When selecting the right paver for your job, color is an essential factor to consider. The colors and style of your house are a common starting point in determining which color to pick for your paved area. If your home is more contemporary with black and white coloring, picking something black, white, or gray will be optimal. If you have a home with brownish tones, or a southern, farmhouse, or craftsman theme, something brown(or a brown gray mix) will likely go well with your home.
Depending on budget and style, there are several paver brands available to choose from for your paver project. Three of our favorites are Belgard, Techo-bloc, and Unilock. Unilock has a line of extremely durable and aesthetic driven products that are top of the line. Techo-bloc is best known for having a wide range of unique products. Finally, Belgard provides more affordable products with a focus on durability and giving you the best bang for your buck.

The size of your paver will set the tone for the whole surface. If you have a smaller home, or one with only one story, a smaller paver will likely compliment your home best. However, if you live in a larger home a bigger paver will match the scale of your home better. Likewise, if your home leans more towards a rustic theme, a smaller tumbled paver will match your space better. And a modern theme, or a more minimalistic theme will lend itself to a larger paver with a cleaner edge.

Pavers do not only come in a variety of colors and sizes, but there are also shapes and patterns that vary from product to product. The most common pattern for a patio in the middle Tn area is a 3 piece Ashlar pattern. Other patterns like herringbone and running bond are commonplace on walkways and around enterances. Adding a border is another way to add to your pattern and make the surface pop. Using a contrasting paver to border the surface adds an element of interest.
Polymeric sand is the glue that will hold your paver patio together. It is available in a plethora of colors. Oftentimes tan and gray will be a go-to for paver patios, since they will go with pretty much any theme, however, more colors are available. If you use light white or gray pavers, and are going for a modern aesthetic, a black polymeric may be perfect for your space.
